The B.C. Northern Exhibition has received a $70,000 grant from the provincial government.
The money, announced Tuesday, comes out of the sport and arts and culture categories of the community gaming grant program.
The BCNE is set for August 18-21 at Exhibition Park.
Entertainment includes draft horse and barrel racing, the annual 4H Auction which supports local agriculture, as well as shows and musical performances. The home arts and horticulture divisions offer activities such as baking, woodworking and quilting.
"The B.C. Northern Exhibition is a summer highlight in our region," Prince George-Mackenzie MLA Mike Morris said. "Fairs like these support our local farmers and give people of all ages the chance to have some good old-fashioned fun. Come down to the exhibition this summer."
