A very bad parking job at Willows Beach prompted Oak Bay police to check out the driver of a car on early Thursday evening (Aug. 8).
The car was sitting across a sidewalk and partially over a ledge when officers took action about 6 p.m. and found a cooler with empty beer cans sitting in the front seat.
The 60-year-old driver ended up with a three-month licence suspension and had his vehicle impounded.
“This impaired-driving incident is a blatant disregard for the safety of others,” said Oak Bay Deputy Police Chief Ray Bernoties. “In that sense, it’s no different than any other impaired driving.”

If you guessed Impaired Driving, give yourself a pat on the back. 👏Today is Friday, please plan your rides now if you're partaking tonight. This driver could've hurt or even killed someone. He was lucky...his car was impounded & his licence is suspended for 3 mths. https://t.co/1TUxVUgXKL pic.twitter.com/gHy4shr2OW
