Discover Camping, the B.C. Parks reservation system, will be open for this season on March 15, the provincial government said Monday.
The online system will start accepting reservations at 9 a.m. and will accept reservations for most B.C. Parks campgrounds up to three months in advance for individual "frontcountry" campsites and up to a year ahead for the group sites.
More reservable campsites have been added to Alice Lake, Golden Ears, Rolley Lake and Herald Lake provincial parks, and campers will also be able to make reservations at Meziadin Lake, Prudhomme Lake and Paul Lake provincial parks.
And for the backcountry campers, Desolation Sound and Joffre Lakes Provincial Park will be added before the May long weekend.
The Discover Camping website is found at www.discovercamping.ca.
There is a non-refundable reservation charge of $6 per night, up to a maximum of $18 plus tax per party, per campsite. Reservations will also be available by phone at 1-800-689-9025 for a surcharge of $5 plus tax.
