Wildfire suppression personnel from the Prince George fire centre are on loan to the Yukon Territory.
Of the seven three-person initial attack crews that arrived in Whitehorse on Friday, four of the crews as well as the agency representative are from this region, Ministry of Forests fire information officer Erin Catherall said.
So far, there are just a handful of fires in the Prince George fire centre, which covers the Prince George-Robson Valley area and northeast B.C.
The largest is a 140-hectare blaze between Taylor and the Alberta border in the Peace.
"Crews can be recalled at anytime if the situation in BC were to change," Catherall said.
Initial attack crews are usually assigned to newer and smaller fires and it's expected they'll be working in the Dawson City area, 532 kilometres north of Whitehorse.
