Thinking about getting into the retail cannabis industry with two government-run stores set to open in Prince George soon?

A job fair is taking place today (Sept. 17), hosted by the B.C. Liquor Distribution Branch (LDB), in hopes of recruiting local employees for the B.C. Cannabis Store (BCCS) set to open in the Pine Centre Mall later this year.

Representatives from the LDB will be set up in the Courtyard Marriott hotel (900 Brunswick St.) from Noon to 6 p.m., with up to 16 different positions up for application.

This includes:

  • Store manager
  • Two assistant store managers
  • Full-time cannabis consultants
  • Part-time cannabis consultants

More information about these positions will be available to interested residents and what experience is needed to potentially land a job.

Whether you plan on attending or not, the LDB says its online portal is accepting resumes.

Prospective employees must go through a series of training, with a focus on social responsibility, adult use of recreational cannabis, and product knowledge.

You can go here for more details on applying for a job with BCCS.
