Battle over the board

A behind-the-scenes battle has erupted between Initiatives Prince George and the Prince George Airport Authority over the method by which directors are chosen for the airport's governing board.

A behind-the-scenes battle has erupted between Initiatives Prince George and the Prince George Airport Authority over the method by which directors are chosen for the airport's governing board.

At particular issue is a provision in the PGAA's bylaw that gives it final say over who is appointed to the 12-member board, selecting from a list of nominees provided by the corporate members. The matter came to a head when reaffirmation of long-time board member Neil King as IPG's nomination came up for consideration in the summer of 2008.
