A Smithers man arrested in connection with Tuesday's armed robbery of a College Heights bank has been formally charged.
Shortly before 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, a man entered TD Canada Trust on Domano Boulevard wearing a mask and produced what appeared to be a hand gun.
He demanded money and fled the scene on foot.
Later in the afternoon, he was found in a wooded area off O'Grady Road and an airsoft pistol, vehicle and other evidence - including cash - was seized.
Jonathan Beaver Tattersall, 31, was charged with robbery with an imitation weapon, two counts of uttering threats, committing an indictable offense while masked and two counts of possession of a weapon dangerous to the public peace.
Tattersall remains in custody at least until his next court appearance, scheduled for Wednesday.
