A 46-year-old man has been sentenced to 60 days in jail for breaking into a bait car.
Mathew Simon Jones was issued the sentence on a count of theft under $5,000 in Prince George provincial court on Thursday, two days after he was arrested.
The car had been placed on Chartwell Crescent in the Westgate area. Jones was found hiding in a back yard and arrested without incident after RCMP were called to the scene at 2 a.m.
He was found with a backpack carrying a Canon camera, Nikon binoculars and a Gerber knife, all believed to have been stolen, police said at the time.
Jones is on the Prince George RCMP's prolific offender watch list.
