Autism BC will be hosting a workshop aimed at parents waiting to get their children assessed to determine whether they have the condition on Dec. 1.
It will be a pilot version of a workshop Autism BC will roll out throughout the province in 2019 and, thanks to support from the City of Prince George, the registration fee is $10 per family.
To be held at the Pacific Autism Family Spoke: Prince George at 1811 Victoria Street, the workshop will last three hours and be facilitate by Michele Shilvock, a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst.
Participants to complete a short survey after the workshop, entitled "Waiting for Assessment."
The wait time for an assessment now stands at 55 weeks, up from 29 weeks 2 1/2 years ago, according to AutismBC.
