The Prince George Citizen's Auction Mall is up and running with items closing as soon as Thursday and the event ends on Sunday, Oct. 29.
There are hundreds of items up for grabs at up to 85 per cent off list price.
"The Auction Mall offers merchandise, services, and gift certificates from a variety of merchants," Cheryl Stewart, advertising director for The Citizen, said. "We have everything from restaurant gift certificates to houseboat vacations. We have brew-it-yourself, furniture, tires. We have fitness memberships and for something fun we have gift certificates to Exit PG for players who want to test their skill at escaping a room using the clues provided. We have everything, including a vanity sink."
Registration for the Auction Mall only requires your name, phone number and e-mail address. No need to give out your credit card number. Payment is made in person at The Prince George Citizen's new office located at #201-1777 Third Ave. once the auction is complete.
Depending on what type of bidder an auction participant might be, there are different ways to go about it.
Some people enjoy advance bidding where they can use the reserve bid option to put in their top bid and as others bid, their bid is automatically increased until their maximum bid has been reached.
"So people can make their bids and walk away," Stewart said.
Other people like the excitement of bidding interactively during the last moments of an auction where it's not over until the last bid has not been bested for five minutes, she added.
"So you can still get an item at the last minute," Stewart said. "We got everyone covered when it comes to auction items - guys, gals and kids. Sign up, bid often and pick yourself a great deal."
