A Prince George man will have to serve out the remainder of his sentence in a federal penitentiary after his attempt to get it reduced to two years less a day so he could transfer to a provincial institution was turned down by a B.C. appeal court justice.
In part, counsel for Joseph Wayne Craig asserted reducing his sentence to provincial time would improve his chances of rehabilitation because he's is being denied access to programs in the federal system.
But in a written ruling issued April 8, Justice Edward Chiasson saw otherwise.
