Update: Rezoning for apartment housing on Queensway cancelled

A B.C. numbered company is looking to rezone an existing commerical building at 2414 Queensway to allow apartment housing.

A proposed rezoning to allow an existing commercial building on Queensway to be used as housing has been cancelled.

A B.C. numbered company had been seeking to rezone a commercial building, located at 2414 Queensway, “to facilitate apartment housing within the existing building on the subject property,” according to a public notice published by the City of Prince George on Tuesday. The applicant had sought to change the zoning from M1: Light Industrial to C4: Local Commercial.

According to a cancellation notice published online by the City of Prince George on Wednesday, the matter will no longer go before city council on May 31. If the matter is brought back for consideration at a future date, a new notice will be published.

According to BC Assessment’s website, 2414 Queensway is currently a commercial office with 6,129 sq. feet of leasable space.
