Nick Orchard is asking anyone with special memories of the Park Drive-In, which opened in 1988, to contact him.
Photos are most welcome as well.
Orchard, who was the all-night summer DJ at CKPG back in 1970, has now turned independent filmmaker.
"What we're doing is a series of short films for the Knowledge Network on theatres around the province," said Orchard of Soapbox Productions. "We're going to start with the drive-In because it sounds like such a nice, romantic story.."
The best way to tell a story is not to give facts and figures.
Orchard is looking for stories like was your first kiss at the Park Drive-In? Did you have your first date with your spouse? The disaster date of the century? Did you sneak friends in the trunk or drive off with the speaker still attached? What about the family time in the station wagon, sharing popcorn and cuddled up in blankets?
These requests will be the subject of a two-minute segment on drive-ins for the longer film about theatres in B.C.
"When people contact me through e-mail, they don't have to tell me their whole story because we plan to come up there sooner rather than later to do the filming," said Orchard, who wants to avoid the snow and plans to come to Prince George before the end of October.
