Another case of arson at the Active Body Nutrition in the River Point Centre took place early Friday morning. There had been other incidents of vandalism early this summer as well.
For the second time in recent months a Prince George business has become the scene of a suspicious fire.
Following a delay caused by a deliberately-set fire in August, Active Body Nutrition was ready to open this weekend.
But just before 5 a.m. Friday, fire fighters were called to the store, located in the River Point shopping complex off the corner of Highway 16 and Ferry Avenue to extinguish yet another blaze.
The store suffered significant fire and water damage and the sight has left owners Cara Roberts and Mark Becker distraught.
"We've put our heart and soul into this," Roberts said of the work done to get the store ready to open following the previous setback.
Prince George RCMP's forensic identification section was called to the scene.
Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call Prince George RCMP at 250-561-3300 or anonymously contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), online at www.pgcrimestoppers.bc.ca, or text CRIMES using keyword “pgtips.”
