Dan Davies, a second term city councilor and schoolteacher in Fort St. John, will seek the Conservative nomination for the Prince George-Peace River electoral riding.

This brings the total number of candidates to three as Don Irwin and Bob Zimmer are also in the running. Long-time MP Jay Hill is retiring at the next federal election.

Davies joined the Reform Party in the early 1990s and the Conservative Party in the early 2000s.

Through fiscal and social responsibility, Davies's focus is to ensure that the economies in resource-based communities are sustainable. Crime reduction, environmental policies, and emerging from the recession with a strong economy are also on his agenda.

His experience includes working in the oil and gas industry, construction industry, and a past business owner. He's also a member of the Canadian Forces Reserves as a Cadet Instructor, long standing Legion member, director with the Restorative Justice Society, the library, and chair of the North Peace Economic Development Commission.
