Alzheimer Society seeks leaders for Walk for Memories

The B.C. Alzheimer Society is seeking volunteer leaders to continue the annual Walk for Memories in Prince George.

The B.C. Alzheimer Society is seeking volunteer leaders to continue the annual Walk for Memories in Prince George.

Volunteers take the lead in their community by organizing the logistics of the Walk, as well as promoting the event locally and recruiting participant teams.

The society provides training and on-going support.

"Volunteer committees in communities around the province bring life and heart to the event, which goes a long way to aid the fight against Alzheimer's disease while honouring local families on the dementia journey," said the society's CEO Jean Blake.

The walk has been held in Prince George every January for the last six years and the 2012 local edition raised $25,000.
