Court action against a senior city staff member accused of violating the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act is unrelated to the Brian Skakun affair, city manager Derek Bates said Friday.

Beyond that, Bates declined to comment on the case against Sandra Caffrey, a senior advisor in the Human Resources and Labour Relations department, who has been charged with disclosing personal information without authorization.

Caffrey made a first appearance on the charge in Prince George provincial court on Wednesday and is next scheduled to appear on August 10 to elect counsel.
