Crown counsel has approved charges against two Prince George men for an alleged series of drug-related acts of violence.
Ryan James Watt, 24, and Colin Michaud Durrand, 24, both face one count each of forcible confinement, pointing a firearm and aggravated assault and two counts each of assault. Watt also faces three counts of uttering threats and Durrand two counts of the same charge.
The offences are alleged to have occurred in Prince George between August 23 and November 21, Prince George RCMP said in a press release issued Thursday.
Watt also faces three counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, four counts of possession of ammunition while prohibited and one count of possession of a firearm while prohibited after he was arrested on Oct. 29.
Prince George RCMP said the detachment's street crew unit apprehended Watt and another man in a parking lot off Highway 16 West and significant amount of heroin and cash in their vehicle.
The arrests and the evidence seized allowed RCMP to obtain a search warrant for a Leland Road home where they sized a .22 calibre semi-automatic rifle, drug trafficking paraphernalia and a significant amount of methamphetamine and cocaine.
The other man was not charged.
Both Watt and Durrand remained in custody as of Thursday.
