Alan Ramsay is now the circulation manager at the Prince George Citizen, replacing Colleen Sparrow as she takes on the role of publisher.
Ramsay began his Citizen career as a district manager in November, 2002, moving into the position of business development co-ordinator in '04, working closely with the circulation and advertising manager. His duties then expanded to include classified manager in March 2010.
Ramsay has championed the Canspell literacy and Raise-a-Reader programs, while also organizing many of The Citizen's promotions.
"Alan and I have always worked very well together," said Sparrow. "He is a very valuable part of the Citizen team and I know he will take on the challenge of circulation manager with his usual enthusiasm. Alan is a great team leader, a devoted family man and a well-liked member of the community."
Ramsay is looking forward to the new challenge.
"We have a great team in Reader Sales that will continue to deliver a high standard of customer service," said Ramsay. "Our goal is to grow circulation and with a new publisher in place and new editor on the horizon you are sure to see some exciting changes in the months to come. Don't forget to enter the Thanks a Million Contest that runs until May 5th. We would love to give away $1,000,000. I would like to thank both Lu Verticchio and Colleen Sparrow for their guidance and mentorship over the past 9 years, as well as my family for all of their support. I would also like to remind our readers to let us know if they are having a service issue or would like to become a subscriber. We can be reached at 250-562-3301 or [email protected].
