Two Prince George residents and one young man from Kitwanga died in the two-vehicle collision Tuesday on Highway 16 West near Jutland Road.

RCMP Cpl. Craig Douglass said Wednesday two of four occupants in an east-bound red 1997 Intrepid were found dead at the scene. They were two men aged 72 and 45 both from Prince George.

The driver of a west-bound 2002 blue Chevrolet Cavalier - also deceased at the scene - was a 19-year-old man from Kitwanga. The driver and one other occupant of the Intrepid and a passenger in the Cavalier, who are all females -- were taken to University Hospital of Northern B.C. The two in the Intrepid have been released from hospital, but the passenger in the Cavalier remains in serious, but stable condition.

"Initial investigation indicates the driver of the west-bound Cavalier lost control, crossed the centre line and impacted the east-bound Intrepid," said Douglass.

No names have been released at the request of next of kin. The BC Coroner Service and RCMP are continuing to investigate.
