Police are warning drivers to avoid the Old Cariboo Highway after a two-vehicle collision Monday resulted in the closure of the northbound lane.
Prince George RCMP have closed the road and are re-routing traffic from the Old Cariboo Highway on the eastern edge of the city to Cariboo Highway (Highway 97).
Southbound traffic on Old Cariboo is proceeding with just one lane open.
Both drivers escaped serious injuries in the accident.
The closure is necessary to allow emergency crews to remove a tanker truck from a ditch at the accident scene.
