As one of a dozen young people across Canada recently named a national aboriginal role model, Krista Alec is going to have an exceptionally busy year ahead of her - and the 22-year-old member of the Nak'azdli band near Fort St. James can't wait to get it started.
The designation, bestowed upon her by the National Aboriginal Health Organization during a ceremony in Ottawa on June 19, means she will be visiting first nations communities across the province and Canada to speak to youth about making positive and healthy choices.
