Chancey Hall was the winner of the Art Battle presented at Knox Performance Centre Friday night.

Prince George Art Battle sees nine artists go head-to-head in a high-speed, three-round competition to create awe-inspiring artwork in front of a soldout crowd who ultimately crowns the victor May 12.

To celebrate Burns Lake's centennial, 20 of the region’s finest artists will square off this summer in a plein air (outdoor) art competition.

Dean Coleman, Prince George artist and three-time cancer survivor, created a colouring book to raise funds for the BC Cancer Agency of the North.

“I wanted some sort of hobby and I wanted something that was just mine so just shy of a year and a half ago I started doing macrame and I fell in love with it.”

George Harris was named to the position, after serving as curator since 2001.
