World film fest goes until March 15

The 11th annual Traveling World Community Film Festival is in town until March 15. There are 26 documentary films that offer intimate stories and insights into the world.

The 11th annual Traveling World Community Film Festival is in town until March 15.

There are 26 documentary films that offer intimate stories and insights into the world.

Subject matter includes refugees, human rights, cooperative economies, resource communities, media, politics, rehabilitation, art, music, food, farming and the environment. To offer a local connection to the subject matter in the films, there are 23 host groups presenting the movies with time to chat afterwards.

Tonight at UNBC, to celebrate International Women's Day, there are five groups coming together to host an evening of films, including the Northern Women's Centre, PG Public Interest Group, Amnesty International, Samuha Overseas Development Association and Grandmothers to Grandmothers.

Special event starts at 7 p.m. in Room 7-150 at UNBC.

Festival day pass is $5 at the door.
