Imagine musicians entertaining in a pristine garden setting, artists painting among blooming flowers and guests visiting beautiful surroundings, one as unique as the next.

The ninth annual Artists in the Garden Tour offers patrons the opportunity to see the sights Sunday during a driving tour from one garden to another with a stop here and lunch there during a day built for fundraising for the Two Rivers Art Gallery.

There are four distinct landscapes featured in the gardens ranging from a playful forest, to a cozy bed and breakfast, an urban organic farm, and a shrub-sculpted land.

There are several artisans in each garden who will painting, creating mosaics and sculpting, while a variety of musicians will perform. Activities are being organized for the whole family and guests can expect to enjoy marshmallow roasting, art activities, games of Bocce and a tea party on top of all the other great treats and creative explorations.

There is an urban farm in the heart of the city that people are also invited to visit, where ducks and geese live and the couple grow their own fruit and vegetables.

"Everything is sustainable and organic and that what's really interesting," said Dominique Madill, co-ordinator of the Artists in the Garden Tour.

Jovanka Djordjevich, who organizes community gardens in the city, will be present in that garden, creating a community mosaic from tile pieces people donate. The artists workshop will also be there doing a demonstration. Rebecca Ramsay will be making art and so will Milan Basic, who is known for his mural work.

The musicians at the urban farm are three fiddlers including, Barry Nakahara, Brittany Iwanciwski, and Chloe Nakahara

"It's pretty exciting and it's such a loving little garden - it's a wonderful place to be," said Madill.

A new element has been included for this year's tour where patrons can pick up their pre-paid, pre-ordered picnic lunch from a designated garden where they can relax and enjoy lunch at their leisure.

Artists in the Garden Tour is Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tickets are $30 each or two for $50 and the picnic lunch is $12. For more information call the gallery at 250-614-7800.
