Prince George duo wins seventh leg of The Amazing Race Canada

A great episode for Grace Dove and Joe Syme

Since The Amazing Race Canada season started only two teams have finished first and finally, during episode 7 of CTV’s popular summer series, another team won.

Grace Dove and Joe Syme from Prince George teamed up with fellow competitors early on to get ahead and kept right on going to take the top prize of a trip for two to Peru and $10,000 from Expedia.

Dove is a Canadian Screen Award nominated actor who appeared in The Revenant as Leonardo DiCaprio’s wife; Alaska Daily, a television series with Hilary Swank and in How It Ends with Forest Whitaker, as well as the movie and television series Bones of Crows. Dove lives in Vancouver now but was born and raised in Prince George.

Grace’s brother Joe Syme is a diamond driller who runs marathons from Prince George.

It seemed like the all-too-polite Canadian teams in this competition finally decided that enough was enough and instead of helping the dominant team win again as they have in past episodes, four of the six teams chose to collaborate but not sabotage.

Leading the pack with the most wins are best-friends duo Jesse Harink and Jonathon Braun from Vancouver who are representing their 2SLGBTQIA+ community.

They have taken the win throughout the series except when brothers Ethan (EB) and Blake Burnett from Toronto, pulled a fast one on Dove and Syme to get the upper hand and raced to the finish line ahead of everyone else in episode 4 and then dominated again in episode 6.

During episode 7 teams were in Eastern Ontario to do a matching game, spend some time in and around a helicopter, do a scavenger hunt for ingredients of Thousand Island dressing and once that task was completed

it was all about communing with nature as one team member got up close and personal with a donkey.

This episode was a little different because as teams ended this leg of the race they immediately started the next with a challenge where they reached new heights.

During episode 8 series followers will see that leg 7 of the race was a non-elimination leg so the six teams still remain as they head to Mississauga for some scooter adventures, a medical skills test, and a crazy heights challenge that could make or break some teams during this challenging race.

Amazing Race Canada is hosted by skeleton bobsled Olympic gold medalist Jon Montgomery and based on the popular U.S. version.

The show challenges teams of two as they race across the country completing physical and mental challenges in pursuit of a grand prize of $250,000 courtesy of FUZE Iced Tea, a trip around the world and two 2025 Chevrolet Blazer EV SS vehicles.

New episodes of the Amazing Race Canada air Tuesdays on CTV.
