Los Paperboys will play the Ramada Friday at 8 p.m. as part of the Coldsnap Festival. The Paperboys is one of Canada's best-loved live bands and folk festival favourites. Los Paperboys mix Mexican Son Jarocho with Irish jigs and reels and a good dose of country and bluegrass, healthy servings of Ska, Soca and African Highlife and is known to throw in a little White Boy Reggae as well. Of course it also has strains of Soul, Pop and Funk. Tickets are $25 available at Books & Co, Studio 2880, and UNBC Bookstore.

Quantum Popcorn Presents: Debbie Ford's The Shadow Effect Friday at 7 p.m. at UNBC's Weldwood Theatre. Tickets are $14 general admission and $12 for students and are available at Books and Company, Homework, The Zen Garden, and limited numbers at the door. Free popcorn will also be available.

D12, a Hip Hop group will be in concert Saturday night at 7:30 at CN Centre. This musical powerhouse will bring an explosive show. Tickets are at all Ticketmaster outlets.

PGSO Strauss Sizzle Ball will feature Imant Raminsh, founding conductor of the PGSO, at the Civic Centre on Saturday at 6 p.m. The Strauss Sizzle will be an unforgettable evening of dancing and live entertainment. Les Dala will conduct the orchestra to create an enchanting dance experience and opportunity to demonstrate and hone your dance steps with Waltzes, Tangos, Fox Trots, and Swing.
