As people start to settle into their fall routines it might be time to look for a way to explore creativity.

The Two Rivers Gallery offers tours, workshops and activities to that end.

On Sept. 8 at 5 p.m. and Sept. 17 at 1 p.m. there is a Weaving Words Celebration: Elder Crafting Workshop (canoes).

Join the Dakelh and Kookum Konnection Elders to learn how to make a small canoe. The participant's first craft creation will be gifted on their behalf during the upcoming Weaving Words Celebration, then the participant can practice their new-found skill on a second craft to take home. Free event, pre-registration is strongly recommended.

On Sept. 11 from 1 to 2 p.m. there is a Gallery Tour en Francais to learn about exhibitions with a guided tour. Ask questions, offer opinions and add your voice to our discussion. This tour will be in French and takes place every second Sunday of the month.

Art Socials take place every third Thursday of the month so on Sept. 15 there is a meet and greet where artists and creatives can come together to talk about what topics to discuss at future meetings. On Oct. 20 there is a grant writing workshop where people can learn how to finesse their application while learning how to research funding opportunities and secure grants.

Another opportunity to get creative occurs during the Weaving Words Celebration: Elder Crafting Workshop (Orange Shirts), which takes place on Sept. 22 at 5 p.m. Join the Dakelh and Kookum Konnection Elders to learn how to design an Every Child Matters shirt. The participant’s first creation will be gifted on their behalf during the upcoming Weaving Words Celebration, then the participant can practice their new-found skill on a second craft to take home. Free event, pre-registration is strongly recommended.
