Treasure hunters will be looking for six lock boxes located in public locations around the city to find clues that could lead them to the final riddle - and a $500 prize.

Treasure hunters will be fanning out across Prince George on Saturday (Aug. 7) morning, looking for clues that could earn them a $500 prize.
Ten per cent of the proceeds raised by the event will be donated to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northern B.C, according to information released by Treaźe – an Okanagan-based treasure hunt experience company hosting the event.
Participants will be emailed and texted a treasure map at the start of the event at 10 a.m. on Saturday. Using the clues on the map, participants will look for six lock boxes located in public spots around the city. By scanning the QR code on the box, or using the tap function on their smart phone, they will be texted a clue to find the next location.
At the final location, participants will have to solve a riddle. The first participant to successfully submit the answer to the riddle by going online to treaze.co and entering the answer under the "I Win" page will win a prize of $500. There are prizes of $300 and $200 for second and third place, plus a random draw for prizes from Northern Estates Winery and other businesses.
Participants will need a smart phone and a vehicle to take part, the company said on its website, and the treasure hunt is expected to last roughly two hours. Tickets are $17.99 per person, or $34.99 for a group of up to six.
