Studio 2880 is hosting an opening reception for an upcoming art exhibit titled 'Repose' by current artist in residence, educator Frances Gobbi.

The opening reception for 'Repose' will be held on Wednesday, September 13 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Studio 2880, located at 2880 15 Ave.

Attendees will have the chance to meet Gobbi and gain insights into her artistic process, inspirations, and the stories behind her captivating pieces. The event is free and light snacks and drinks will be provided.

Gobbi is a talented artist based in Prince George and has a profound interest in the experience of being surrounded by the vastness of nature, and draws inspiration from her time spent hiking and camping.

The theme of the exhibit, 'Repose', holds a dual meaning. It signifies a state of tranquility, capturing the essence of stillness and calm that permeates Gobbi's artwork.

Additionally, the title refers to the deliberate positioning of objects or people within a setting, inviting viewers to ponder the significance of placement and interconnection.

Studio 2880 says the event offers art enthusiasts and the community at large an opportunity to engage with thought-provoking works that explore the depths of human connection.
