The Prince George Public Library hosts its public Spring Book Sale on Saturday at the downtown branch.

It’s time for the Spring Book Sale at the Prince George Public Library’s downtown branch.

The public sale goes Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. where hundreds of books are on offer for readers of a great variety of genres.

There’s a members-only pre-sale taking place Friday from 3 to 6 p.m. for those who are Friends of the Library. Membership can be purchased on-the-spot for $5 at the entrance of the sale in the Keith Gordon Room.

All items are available for a cash donation, with proceeds going to support special items, programs and initiatives at the library.

Margaret Johnston, past president and director of the Friends of the Prince George Public Library, is excited about the upcoming event and encourages attendees to bring their reusable bags, cash, and love of books and bargains.

The Friends of the Prince George Public Library are local volunteers who are dedicated to supporting the programs and services offered at the library.

The society believes developing libraries is a crucial part of developing communities, and that's why they promote the library and raise necessary funds for special library projects. Since their incorporation in 1990, they have raised more than $440,000 with fundraising initiatives like book sales, memberships and merchandise sales (mugs and bookbags), and 50/50 draws.
