Telkwa earned the highest average score within their region playing SiriusXM's Face the Music Challenge so on Aug. 11 at the Smithers fair grounds Sam Roberts Band and the Trews will hit the local stage.

Face the Music started in June, testing Canadians on their musical know how to win a free concert. The game awarded points for correctly identifying songs based on SiriusXM's commercial-free music playlist.

More than 100,000 games were played since the launch and participants encouraged friends in their community to play using Facebook and Twitter.

"We're thrilled that Telkwa, Sault Ste. Marie, Baie-Comeau and Sussex are our Face the Music winners," Paul Cunningham, vice president, sales and marketing, SiriusXM Canada, said in a news release.

"It was terrific to see such strong community participation. We're proud to reward the winning communities with a free and exclusive concert experience from these incredibly talented Canadian artists."

Sault Ste. Marie, ON will get to see Broken Social Scene and Bedouin Soundclash, Baie-Comeau, QC will get a show from Marie-Mai and Alfa Rococo; and City and Colour with k-os will play in Sussex, NB.

"Really looking forward to getting out to B.C. and rocking for you folks," remarked John-Angus MacDonald of The Trews.

"Congrats on the big win and thanks to everyone who participated. I'm sure it'll be a grand ol' time. Cheers!"
