Hula hooping, washtub bass playing and west African dancing are on the list of playshop adventures during the eighth annual ArtsWells Festival of All Things Art held in Wells and Barkervile this weekend.

Along with more than 20 workshops there are about 100 shows featuring a variety of artists who will showcase their talent in folk, jazz, country, funk, hip hop, electonic, world, pop and roots. There are independent films presented as well as local theatre productions to watch.

There is an international One Minute Play Festival, an ArtWalk around town, artisans selling their wares and a few surprises, too.

Wells has always been a town known for its art and culture and there's a bit of history at the town site as well. Since the 1930s shows have been presented at the Wells Community Hall and that tradition will continue during the festival.

Nature trails, historical sites, artisans and performers combine to provide entertain for everyone during the ArtWells festival.
