Forever Young Chorus at the Elder Citizens Recreation Association presents Songs of the Season Dec. 1, 2 and 3.

The 50-member choir will be in full voice dressed in holiday finery singing everyone’s favourites as they gather together for their final concert of 2023.

“There will be winter songs and Christmas songs and sing along songs,” Janice Taylor, Forever Young choral director, said. “We always like to do a few of those. Vic Steblin is our wonderful accompanist and he just makes it all come together and we always have so much fun."

Joann Smiley, general manager at the Elder Citizens Recreation Association, has always been a big fan of events like Songs of the Season, even before she was manager at the Centre.

“I would come to these events with my friends,” Smiley said. “The way things are nowadays going to events like these is so good because we all need what’s light and bright in our lives.”

The show goes Friday, Dec. 1 and Saturday, Dec. 2 at 7 p.m. and on Sunday, Dec. 3 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $12 at the centre in advance or at the door.

To take part in any of the activities at ECRA, participants must be a member. Currently there are 940 members at the Elder Citizens Recreation Association and the chorus has the most participation of all the groups and activities included at the centre located at 1692 Tenth Ave. Membership is $25.
