Science World's On the Road team will be in Prince George next week hosting school events and a free public science celebration.
The Community Science Celebration will be co-presented with The Exploration Place on Saturday, from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. The free public event will include science shows, demonstrations, challenges and exhibitors, and a chance to meet with local people working in science, technology, engineering and math fields.
Science World president Scott Sampson, also known as Dr. Scott the Paleontologist from the popular PBS children's series Dinosaur Train, will be at the event and making an announcement about a new initiative with The Exploration Place.
"We are thrilled to be participating in the Community Science Celebration in Prince George," Science World community outreach director Jo-Ann Coggan said in a statement. "It is a showcase of the community for the community and will profile local businesses, organizations and innovators. Science World and The Exploration Place will provide fun, dynamic science experiences for the whole family as part of this event."
From Monday to Friday, the Science World team will be putting on science events at local schools. The Science World's On the Road team visits schools outside the Lower Mainland, presenting to more than 30,000 students who might not otherwise get a chance to visit the Telus World of Science.
