Theatre NorthWest and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northern B.C. are teaming up to bring a fundraiser called Yo-ho-ho and a Bottle of Rum to Prince George.

The pirate-themed event will have dancing, pirates, and rum-based cocktails and drinks.

“We love working together and we think we throw a really great party together,” said Tim Bennett, executive director of BBBSNBC.

“This is a great opportunity for two groups to work together, raise some money, and show the town a good time,” added Bennett.

The event will feature different kinds of rum and rum cocktails and lots of pirate fun.

“We have had a surprising number of requests for a rum event,” said Marni Hamagami, artistic producer of Theatre NorthWest.

“Fewer for pirates, but then we never want to miss an opportunity to open the tickle trunk,” Hamagami continued.

Of course, guests are welcome to dress up as pirates, or as bottles of rum or in any other Halloween costumes they like – or not at all.

The event will take place on Friday, Oct. 14 at Theatre NorthWest at 36-556 North Nechako Road and tickets are available online through Theatre NorthWest’s website.
