To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the book and the anniversary of the Dahl's birthday (Sept. 13) the quirky folks at Books & Co. are inviting children of all ages to mark the occasion by attending Roald Dahl Day Peach Party Sunday at 2 p.m.

"We're going to do a reading from James and the Giant Peach," said Nicole Larson, events planner and coordinator at Books & Co. "Then we're going to make marvelous monsters."

It's an interactive craft where one child will make draw the head of the monster, fold the paper, the second person will draw the body and fold the paper, then the third person will draw the legs. The person who draws the head will get to name the monster. When the paper is unfolded monster mayhem ensues.

After the creations are completed they will be gracing the windows and walls in Books & Co.

"This will be a really fun way to spend a Sunday afternoon," said Larson. "And as usual it's a free event and it might be a really good way to introduce children to the wonderful world of Roald Dahl. He has written fantastic books that are really something that kids enjoy."
