Jagermeister Canada kicks off their 2011 touring schedule at CN Centre tonight at 6:30 p.m. with Buckcherry, Papa Roach, My Darkest Days and Bleeker Ridge.

"I like the feeling when a bunch of bands are all going at once and then we're seeing a lot of the same people every day," said Papa Roach lead guitar Jerry Horton.

"We're really good friends with the Buckcherry guys so we love touring with them and we've done it a lot."

When the band first started out 18 years ago, Papa Roach was a garage band just making music for fun.

"We were pretty bad musically but we played anywhere we could," said Horton. "It took us about seven years to really discover what we wanted to do. In the beginning our style was about what kind of music we were into at the moment. When we wrote and recorded the first record it was obviously influence by hip hop and a little bit of punk rock and we let that shine through and since then we've obviously moved on."

Papa Roach is an American rock band from Vacaville, California. Their first major-label release was the triple-platinum album Infest in 2000. The group's success continued with their gold 2002 album Lovehatetragedy, their platinum album in 2004 Getting Away with Murder, The Paramour Sessions of 2006 and Metamorphosis of 2009.

The band's seventh album, Time for Annihilation, was released on August 31, 2010. Papa Roach has sold more than 10 million album copies worldwide, and are known best for Last Resort, Scars, Forever, and Lifeline.

"People know us by our groove, a good melody, good interplay between the instruments and the lyrics that mostly come from experience and from the heart," said Horton.

"These are the mainstays of Papa Roach. Over the years we've changed little things here and there and introduced new elements and different styles but those are the things people know us by."

It's been a while since the band has been to Prince George.

"I'm excited about coming back to Prince George 'cause it's been a while and we always have good shows up there so I'm stoked," said Horton.

Included on tour is the famous JgerWorld, hosted by the world famous Jgerettes. In 2011, this consumer interactive area allows patrons to try the latest signature guitars from Schecter, enter contests, get autographs, chill out, and get a ton of free Jger gear.
