The honour to represent our region at the Provincial Performing Arts B.C. Festival is sought after by hundreds of young performers each year and those representing the city are a credit to the high quality of instruction they receive.
Each performer must reach exacting standards of performance in their disciplines to be invited to the provincial competition.
This elite group of participants will showcase their talent at the Northern Stars concert at the Prince George Playhouse Thursday at 7:30 p.m.
The concert features the top performers chosen during the Prince George Dance Festival and the Prince George Speech Arts and Drama Festival. These participants will then get a chance to compete at the provincial festival to be held in Kamloops from June 5 to 9.
The Prince George Community Foundation has sponsored this event with the donations going to build scholarships for the three festivals and their provincial-level performers.
Everyone is encouraged to attend, enjoy and support some of the rising stars on the Prince George arts scene before they travel to Kamloops.
Admission is by donation at the door or sent to the Prince George Community Foundation. For more information on donations call Judy Neiser at 250-562-7772.
