This is the time to start thinking about how you're going to ring in the new year and there are several events to choose from in Prince George.

There are senior centres offering live bands, an event offering Latin flavour, a toe-tapping way to support the Legion, an extravagant gourmet meal and some heavy metal sounds to rock out hard core.

New Year’s Eve Dance Party at the Hart Pioneer Centre, 6986 Hart Highway, goes Dec. 31 featuring classic country and rock ‘n roll music by the B Side Band. Doors open at 7 p.m., music starts at 8 p.m. and goes to 1 a.m. Hot & cold buffet luncheon starts at 10:30 p.m. Tickets are $45 per person and available at the office. Reservations for eight or more are welcome.

SOLDOUT - Latin New Year’s Eve 2023 Fiesta dinner and dance at the Coast Hotel banquet hall Dec. 31. Dinner starts at 5:30 p.m. with a dance to follow. This is a formal dress occasion with a cash bar and music is by DJ Mau and the events ends at 1:30 a.m. Tickets are $65 each for adults. Children’s tickets are $35 each and those under five are free. New Year’s Eve celebration at the Prince George Senior Activity Centre, 425 Brunswick St., Dec. 31. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. Music starts at 8 p.m. and is provided by Cariboo Thunder. Appies will be served at 10 p.m. Tickets are pre-purchase only prior to Dec. 22 for $40 and are available at the office. Everyone 19+ is welcome to attend. For more information call 250-563-1915.

New Year’s Eve at the Legion, 1116-6th Ave. with the Wranglers. The event starts at 8 p.m. and there’s a late-night snack provided. Tickets are $35. For more information call 250-562-1292.

New Year’s Rockin’ Eve at Omineca Arts Centre. 369 Victoria St., starts at 7:30 p.m. and is suitable for all ages. The event features the Coastal Drifters who are a hard rock band from Terrace. Guests include Infectious, a local zombie hard rock and metal band, and Examine the Bore, a groovy dad rock and alternative rock band. Tickets are $30 at the door.

New Year’s Eve Five-Course Gourmet Dinner at Northern Lights Estate Winery on Dec. 31 at 5:30 p.m. Executive Chef Rickie offers a tasting menu, perfect for everyone with its inclusive menu options. Expertly curated wines are available as pairings for an additional charge. Pricing includes gratuity and GST and ticket also includes free entry to the Light up the Orchard event.
