Shakespeare’s most fascinating and mischievous characters subject of Shakespeare City
Method Dance Society will be presenting its second live performance, Shakespeare City at Theatre Northwest.
The show takes the audience on a whimsical post-apocalyptic journey through the experience of some of Shakespeare’s most fascinating and mischievous characters.
Dancers move through musical elements of jazz, classical, and avant-garde melodies - contemplating a world left only to a small group of Shakespearean misfits.
Choreographers include Shelby Richardson, Ashley Burmaster, Melissa McCracken, along with new emerging artists Shayla Dyble and Sara McGowan.
The performance will also include live musical elements by Justin Gendreau and the audio and visual effects of Jon Russell.
“We are so excited to have some amazing dancers and choreographers from the North featured in this show,” said artistic director and choreographer Shelby Richardson. “It has been such a wonderful experience collaborating with these artists and we can’t wait to share it with our local community.”
Shows start at 8 p.m. on Fri., July 15 and at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. on Sat., July 16. Tickets are available through the Theatre Northwest website at Theatre NorthWest | Description - Shakespeare City
