Bring your knitting or crochet and listen to poet Al Rempel read from his latest chapbook on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at Art Space above Books & Co., 1685 Third Avenue.

“It’s a series of prose poems that are all relating to my growing up years just outside of Abbotsford,” Rempel said.
“I started writing the book at the start of the pandemic because the future didn’t look very promising so I started looking backwards. It was just a product of getting older as I think we tend to reminisce. I started experimenting with a way of writing with some prose poems and then I hit on a style that worked for me and the stories just came pouring out and one memory would trigger three or four more and that’s how it came to be.”
There’s a $5 cover charge and there are door prizes and refreshments.
