Local poet is nominated for West Coast Book Prize

Local author Ken Belford is up for a West Coast Book Prize in the Dorothy Livesay Poetry Prize category.

Local author Ken Belford is up for a West Coast Book Prize in the Dorothy Livesay Poetry Prize category.

This is one of seven categories in the West Coast Book Prize Society awards, which will be announced at the Lieutenant Governor's BC Book Prizes Gala on Thursday, April 21, 2011 at the Kay Meek Centre in West Vancouver.

British Columbia's Lieutenant Governor, the Honourable Steven L. Point, OBC, will be in attendance.

Belford was nominated for his work called Decompositions (Talonbooks). Other nominees in this category include George Bowering, My Darling Nellie Grey (Talonbooks), Stephen Collis, On the Material (Talonbooks), Jen Currin, The Inquisition Yours (Coach House Books), Eve Joseph, The Secret Signature of Things (Brick Books).
