A sentiment many people can relate to during the pandemic, Two Rivers Gallery presents I Miss Your Faces an exhibit created by Audrey McKinnon which is on display until March 14.
The project features large scale portraits of the artist, friends and family that reflects upon the importance of human connection during a global pandemic.
The art installation finds the portraits hung in the gallery and then the artists extended the pieces by painting on the walls.
“The pandemic has been emotionally difficult for many,” Meghan Hunter-Gauthier, assistant curator, said. "The paint on the wall is symbolic for emotions that can no longer be contained and must be released.”
McKinnon said she's looking to bring spontaneity into the world with the exhibit.
"We've missed so much of the spontaneity that comes from being in each others' presence over the last year and I want to bring that feeling into this space with my work. I hope people will walk away from this exhibit feeling like they have been in my presence even if I can't be there in real time," McKinnon said.
I Miss Your Faces is in the Rustad Galleria.
