Leave your inhibitions at the door, advised Greek-Canadian musician and multi-award winning entertainer Pavlo, as he brings his guitar and suaveness to a performance at the Prince George Playhouse on Oct. 25.

Pavlo's Mediterranean style of playing the guitar inspires people to move and he invites them to share their joy right on stage with him.

He often goes out into the audience and dances with people if they are too reluctant to join him on stage.

"I was raised in a very festive household and dancing and singing were part of my life very early on," he said. "That's what a concert is really all about - to be festive - it's a party."

Pavlo is the most successful independent artist to come out of Canada, performing more than 150 shows per year. He has sold more than half a million records worldwide and has two gold albums.

He also has his own PBS special entitled Pavlo: Mediterranean Nights which now airs nationally on CBC Bold and Bravo.

"I'm always on my tip toes, playing my music, enjoying the crowd," said Pavlo of his time performing live. "There is never a real plan for the show. Sometimes I will play a song for three minutes, sometimes it will go on for 18 minutes. Wherever the music takes me, that's where I'll go."

Pavlo's new album, Six String Blvd, is his ninth album and has just been released this month.

During this tour Pavlo will travel around Canada, USA, Germany, UK, China, India, Singapore and South Korea.

Pavlo gives a guitar away at each of his concerts. Sometimes there's a draw people can enter, other times he is inspired to give his guitar to a particularly enthusiastic fan in the audience.

"It all depends on the show," said Pavlo. "Just be prepared for a great time."

Halawa, of Zahirah Middle Eastern Belly Dance School in Prince George, will be a special guest performer at the concert.

Tickets are available at all Ticketmaster outlets.
