Four people with Northern B.C. connections earn B.C. film award nominations

Madison Smith has been nominated for a Leo Awards that recognize outstanding achievement within B.C.'s film and television industry. There are three other nominees from Northern BC as well.

There are four nominees with a Northern B.C. connection for this year's Leo Awards, which celebrate the best in B.C. film and TV industry.

Dylan Playfair and Isaiah Berra are nominated for Whistle, a film shot in Fort St. James, in categories of best short drama, best short drama production design and best performance male, short drama.

Madison Smith was nominated as best lead performance male, television movie, for Psycho Intern.

Braiden Van Grootel gets the nod for best student film for Darkside.

The Leo Awards are a project of the Motion Picture Arts & Sciences Foundation of BC.

The 2022 LEO AWARDS will be live-streamed on YouTube during two evening presentations on  Tuesday, July 5 and Wednesday, July 6 beginning at 6:45 p.m. PDT.

Each event will include a pre-show and live acceptance speeches and the third night will be hosted live at the Hyatt Regency Hotel on Saturday, July 9. More details will be available closer to the event dates at the 2022 Leo Awards.
