Autumn is upon us. The leaves are changing their colours, the dew is thick and wet in the mornings, some frost whitens the tips of the longer hours of darkeness, and the chill is brisk. To honour what many consider a local climate highlight, the Prince George Symphony Orchestra presents a concert they're calling Fall Is In The Air.
This show is an intimate special event on the PGSO's calendar. The performance will be at the Ramada ballroom to include clusters of friends, savoury food and celebratory beverages to fit with the season and the selections of music.
The music mimics the splatter of splendid colours across the hills and valleys of the area. It is a sprinkling of new and old, modern and classic, atmospheric and emotional. The PGSO will play (among other numbers) Scott Joplin's Portrait, Danzi's Quintet In E-Minor, some Benny Goodman, some Leonard Cohen and even play a Game of Thrones.
"Enjoy a glass of spirit and appetizers in a social setting while listening to our musicians up close and personal in a casual setting," said a statement from the PGSO.
"Perhaps you would like to add to your evening by having a specially priced dinner at the Ramada prior to the concert or if you're from out of town, enjoy a special concert night reduced rate at the hotel. A wonderful social evening awaits you."
The show gets underway Friday at 7:30 p.m.
Tickets are on sale now via Central Interior Tickets (the website or the desk at Enchainement Dance Studio on Opie Crescent).
