Razzle Dazzle Do is an annual fundraising event to be held Saturday night at Sweder Berries U-Pick farm in support of Cystic Fibrosis research.

Commercial farmers Karen and David Kellett, who host the dining event featuring locally-grown food, anticipate donations of $25,000 or more in total, with 125 guests expected to attend.

"Both of our sons have Cystic Fibrosis and we've been volunteers for Cystic Fibrosis Canada for 26 years, participating in all the fundraising events," said Karen Kellett. "This is the third annual Razzle Dazzle Do. It seems a good combination to put together our passion for agriculture with our passion for finding a cure for Cystic Fibrosis. It's been an incredibly popular and unique event and it's a great opportunity - as the weather has turned - for us to celebrate summer at the same time. People should come out and enjoy being outside on a summer evening for a change."

This event will introduce participants to a wide variety of foods grown in the Prince George area.

Cimo's chef Wayne Kitchen has a passion for local food and will be serving a fresh and delicious five-course meal.

"It's a bit of a challenge finding local produce this year, so a lot of it will be coming from our farm," said Kellett. "So lots of fresh salads will be on the menu, with cabbage, broccoli and carrots, as well as raspberries and blueberries. There will be pulled lamb from Glenbirnam Farm. The menu will be as fresh as the produce."

The Three Amigos will be entertaining throughout the evening and Kellett said the band will be up on a hay wagon under a bright red tent. Curtis Abriel, one of the Three Amigos, and Hanna Fettis, local singer, will also be performing some show tunes from West Side Story, with accompaniment from one of Karen and Dave's sons, Angus, who is a pianist with the Vancouver Opera.

Up for live auction are prizes like ski holidays at Big White and Silver Star and West Jet tickets anyplace they fly. More than a dozen country music artists like Reba, Johhny Reid and Corb Lund have signed the much-coveted guitar, donated by music store Long & McQuade. This item is one of many that will go to the highest bidder. There is also framed artwork and surprise items available as well.

Diners can take the bus to the event that leaves Pine Centre Mall at 4 p.m. and returns at 10.

Tickets are $65 at SpeeDee Printers, 490 Brunswick Street or at Sweder Berries U-Pick.
