The latest exhibit by College of New Caledonia (CNC) fine arts students is now on display at the college's library.

Titled Visions from Within, the exhibit features 53 pieces done in a variety of mediums from 13 students in the one-year certificate program.

"It's a cross-section of acrylics, mixed mediums and drawings," said CNC fine arts instructor Betty Kovacic. "The subjects are varied. Some pieces are abstract and figurative and some are a combination of the two."

The exhibit's title was one chosen by the students and appropriate for this display, said Kovacic.

"Art is informed by subjects and ideas relevant to each student's personal development," she said. "Visions from within is work created to meet a project, created from their inner knowledge, voice, ideas and emotions.

"These projects are open ended and the students picked their own slant."

Visions from Within, runs until April 3, and is free and open to the public. Library hours are Monday to Wednesday, 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., Thursday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and weekends, noon to 5 p.m.
