The big top will rise once again, inflated by the sounds of music, laughter and the ahhhhhs of the audience.

American Crown Circus will do what hasn't been seen in Prince George for years, but used to be a standard sight here and across the continent. They will set up the old fashioned circus tent once again for a four-day stand in our city.

"Come see a motorcycle dance party, electrifying tight rope artists, high energy Kenyan acrobats, skilled aerialists and hilarious clowns. This show is an all-human acrobatic show," said a statement issued by the American Crown Circus organizers. They come with aerial silks, trapezes, magician's props, creative costumes, makeup and theatrical showmanship.

The show is called Circo Osorio, named for the Osorio family of entertainers who founded this ambitious experience in their native Mexico and now are based in Las Vegas from which they tour North America.

"Franciso (Pancho), Leoncio Enrique (Leo) and Roberto Carlos (Rob) are three brothers that continue to live the American dream," said event organizers. "Their father Herminio Osorio and mother Rosabelia Osorio retired from the family business Circo Osorio Mexico to bring these brothers to the United Sates to live the American dream.

"They started out small; working for other shows and parks," the statement continued. "They decided to open their own show, American Crown Circus - Circo Osorio USA. Their first tour lasted for 10 days around Vegas Valley. With the hard work and determination that their parents taught them, soon they were performing over 35 weeks to thousands of people a year."

They make their Prince George debut on July 13 (7:30 p.m.), 14 (5:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.), 15 (3:30 p.m., 5:30 p.m., and 7:30 p.m.) and 16 (3:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.).

"This unique circus was designed with a family audience in mind. The intimate setting under a big top, provides spectators up-close and personal exposure to the circus."

The family business has now been in operation for more than 90 years, dating back to their origins in Mexico.

"Every time the big top goes up, history is being made, giving families an opportunity that no text book or iPad can teach kids."

Tickets are on sale now at the box office at CN Centre where the giant tent will soon be set in place.
